The Gospel is a message of life, hope and joy.
It is also a message of salvation.
But do we really need saving?
Saving from what?
We’ve all made mistakes. We've done, said and thought wrong things. Tough as it is to admit, we are imperfect and flawed. You might not think too much of it but God says in the Bible that all sin must be judged.

But why?

You see, our problem of sin was inherited from our parents, and they from their parents, from their parents... right back to the very first man and woman - Adam and Eve. God created them as perfect, sinless beings, designed to bring joy and honour to God. However, our very first parents thought they knew better than God and chose to disobey Him - a choice that introduced sin into the world for the very first time. Since then, every person born has been marked by a sinful heart.
So What's the big deal?

God is LOVE but He is also JUST
In fact, the Bible says that "the judge of all the world will do what is right" (Genesis 18:25). This means our sin, any wrongdoing, cannot go unpunished. And just like a criminal standing before a judge, we are found guilty of God’s perfect standard ("All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23)
Because of this, without God's salvation we are headed towards an eternity separated from God in Hell, a terrible place originally created only for the Devil and his demons. Try as we might to be good people we cannot save ourselves. Our best efforts cannot reach God’s perfect standard. (We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. Isaiah 64:6)
Now for the Good news
God knows we are unable to escape judgement and get right with God by our own efforts.
So He sent a Saviour.
For the world.
For you.
Because we are unable to save ourselves from this judgement, and because God is not wanting ANY to perish (2 Peter 3:9), Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, left Heaven and was born as a humble baby - both perfectly God and a perfect man.
In His 33 years on Earth, Jesus Christ experienced the pain, suffering and hardships of human life. He showed love and kindness to the marginalized, the suffering, the broken. And He came with a purpose - to provide a way of salvation from the judgement of sin. Only a perfect human could take the judgement of sin in place of an imperfect human. And only someone with the power of God had the power and authority to do so. As both God and perfect Human, Jesus had the ability and right to accomplish this.
Jesus Christ died in your place
Sentenced to death by an angry mob, Jesus allowed Roman soldiers to take Him, torture Him, and finally to nail Him to a wooden cross, the most excruciating form of Roman execution.
Suspended on that cross, the Lord Jesus then took your punishment - and the punishment of every human to have ever existed - on Himself in three long unspeakable hours. He then willingly gave up His life and died.
Is that it?

Not Quite...
Jesus Christ was buried in a sealed tomb, guarded by Roman soldiers. Three days later He was no longer there. He no longer needed that tomb. Jesus rose from the dead and was seen by over 500 eyewitnesses. He then returned to Heaven. In His resurrection, He proved that He has power over death itself because He is God. Only He has the power to save you from judgement in Hell, because He is the only one who has overcome death.

THIS is the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
So how can I be saved?
"
"

Trust Him in faith to save you from Hell and accept God’s gift of everlasting life.
Acknowledge Him as Lord
Confess that Jesus is your Lord (Master) - you cannot save yourself by living a good life, but God will give you the Holy Spirit who gives the Christian the ability to live for Him.
